Update 15/08.2010 -

Back in April I cycled 102 miles in rain and sunshine, up and down hills, met lots of lovely people, and had a great time. 

Yesterday I received a letter from the Royal Marsden thanking me for raising an incredible £3136.33, including Gift Aid, via this page. Next week I'll be going back to see them for my annual check to make sure I'm still clear two and a half years after treatment.

Thank you very much for helping me support them.

Many of my friends and colleagues are already aware that I was treated for cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2007 and 2008. I decided back then that as soon as I had fully recovered I would go on a long bike ride to raise money for the Marsden. I wanted in some small way to show my appreciation for the amazing treatment I received. Without their care and support there's a good chance I wouldn't be here today. Now, 2 years after finishing treatment I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be!

I am cycling 81 miles, starting on Saturday 8th May at Bowness-on-Solway on the West coast and following the hilly route alongside Hadrian's Wall, finishing on the East coast at South Shields on Monday10th May.
