Story

I was meant to be taking part in my first marathon during the Edinburgh Marathon Festival last year. Due to COVID it was postponed until September, then planned again for this May until it was cancelled. Instead, I am taking part in a 'Virtual Marathon' on Sunday 30th May on a route near to my home.

Running 26.2 miles on my own, without the atmosphere and crowd support that an organised race has will be tough, but raising money for Simpsons Special Care Babies will keep me going.

My twins were born in 2011 at 25 weeks and spent their first few months of life in the Special Care Babies Unit at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The care they received while they were there was second to none. They are now healthy, cheeky, soon to be 10 year olds.

I appreciate that the past year has been a tough time for everyone, emotionally and financially, but if you could spare anything as a donation it would be greatly appreciated and will push me to complete this challenge.

Thanks

Paul
