Story
I could tell you that the 130 miles rowing the River Thames from Lechlade to Richmond will be nothing more than blood sweat and tears but I'd rather tell you the truth.
Born and bred by the Thames this has been an ambition for many many years and one that is finally being put to rest. Chris and I, friends since junior school will, starting on Saturday June 19th be rowing the Thames from source to Richmond in a 1888 built Thames skiff a la ' Three Men in a Boat ' - minus Jerome and Montmorency.
We expect it to be a blend of hard work and enjoyment and also a more than good excuse for me to donate as well as raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
I think most of us are lucky enough to remember our childhood as one of the happiest times of our lives, I cannot imagine what it must be like to suffer during these early years.
Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to grant the wishes of
children who are living with serious or life-threatening illnesses
between the ages of 3-18 who live in the United Kingdom. For many of these children it will be one of the very few times they ever leave hospital.
With
your help they and their families can experience the joy and excitement
of doing something they've only ever dreamt of before. If you do have time please do take a look at the video on their home page.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and if you do choose to donate both myself and Rays of Sunshine will be very grateful.
