Story
Hi,
for some insane reason, I have decided to run the 2010 London Marathon. Lesley my wife, thinks I am having a mid-life crisis but the reality is that I'm really up for a physical challenge.
I ran the second ever London Marathon in 1983 (yes 1983!), when I was just 18 years old! My time was 3hrs 43mins and I would love to do a bit better this time round just to make me feel I'm not quite over the hill.
Back then, I was part of a three man team that raised money for a new mini-bus for the school my mum was a teacher at – St James's in Twickenham.
This time round, I am planning to raise at least 2k for a fantastic charity called Whizz-Kidz, which provides mobility equipment and training for disabled children www.whizz-kidz.org.uk
Through this charity, children are able have an active childhood at home and at school which ultimately gives them the independence to be themselves.
So thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
