Story
I decided to do this run years ago but never got round to actually doing it. Then a few close friends were diagnosed with Cancer and I thought it would be the best way to try to help them.
4 weeks ago I thought I'd better do something about it and start running. I guess 6 weeks training should be enough!? We'll see!
I can now tick that box as I finished the run with a time of 1hr 43 finishing 986 out of 5,300 runners. I don't think the rain and wind helped much. I did have a good final 1mile as I decided to sprint to the finish (I blame the Rocky films I watched leading up to the race). My times are below for those of you who are as sad as me who like those kind of things. My Garmin watch says I ran 13.2 miles, the last .2 of a mile taking 1.11 minutes, if I could have maintained that pace it would be a 5m 55 mile (I don't think so!).
Finally thanks to everyone who sponsored me, I know the money is going to a great cause.
