The Imagine If Trust is a charity created and run by the Frontline Church, of which Penny was a member. She worked most actively on Streetwise, in which teams go out at night in vans to provide practical and emotional support to street sex workers and provide a safe place for them to discuss concerns or fears and where they can also request support in attending official meetings such as court cases. This has since been put into the capable hands of a partner local charity. Penny also avidly supported the Food Hub, a community food store at the Frontline Centre, and the annual Christmas Meal project, which provides a full meal and entertainment each year to about 250 local people who are isolated, vulnerable or unable to afford a Christmas celebration of their own.

Penny was especially interested in the work of Genesis Housing, which houses people from all over Liverpool who have been referred by agencies working with homelessness. Tenants often come from hostels and hope to make a permanent transition to independent living. Tenants are also given long-term support like mentoring, personal skills development and employability workshops. She’d be particularly excited that she can now, through you, support their affiliated work in the Congo!
