We raise funds for The National Hospital to improve the lives of neurology patients

Story

Penny passed away peacefully at home on the 6th August, aged just 31. She worked tirelessly between her diagnosis of a malignant brain tumour in 2007 and her eventual death to raise money for the National Brain Appeal, to help the hospital which did so much to help her. In the end she raised almost £400,000 & helped fund a new imaging centre, new Brain Tumour Unit (the first in the UK) as well as a dedicated research fellow position. She would absolutely have wanted any legacy to go to this remarkable charity & the teams that work so hard to improve outcomes for those afflicted with this terrible disease.

About the charity

There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.
