Fundraising for Phyllis Tuckwell
Some of you may already know that I have gained entry for this years London Marathon on Sunday, April 25th. Yes I know, what a surprise - not least to me! The plan is to power walk and of course to finish - eventually? Training has been going well, but there is a lot more to do between now and April!
Many of you will also know I have been a volunteer at our local hospice for over twenty years, so it will be no surprise to learn, that it is the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice that I am supporting. Sadly in our lives many of us will have been 'touched' by the effects of cancer or other life threatening illnesses, which makes places like the hospice so crucial to the community - not just for the patients, but for their families and carers. The deficit on funding from the NHS means that the hospice has to raise an incredible £10,000 every day just to keep the doors open - a daunting task!* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
