Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my just giving page. As you know Fair Havens is a charity extremely close to me as my Grandad – Pop was cared for in September 2008 at Chalkwell. The quality of care and general kindness of the staff was unbelievable but with a yearly running cost of £2.8m it couldn’t happen without donations. It was during one of our daily visits that Soph and I said we’d try to do something – albeit small to help. With your help the October 2008 ‘Holding Hands’ black tie dinner and dance at The Boatyard raised £4,940.
We’d love to raise more and have been looking for a different way of doing this. Well here I am a father of 3 rapidly approaching forty, though possibly more alarmingly – rapidly approaching 13 and a half stone. So armed with a jelly seat (yet to get), a tub of Vaseline (worryingly already got), some cushioned cycling shorts (yet to get) and a comfortable bike (yet to get) I plan to ride from London to Paris for fair Havens with my partner in Lycra Dan, who’s response to my request to join me was 4 days, 325 miles? Sounds horrendous... I’m in.
Your donation (however little) would mean an awful lot to many people as the charity strives to offer patients and families comfort support and dignity.
Thanks
