Story
Last year your Humble Bumble(bee) buzzed through the10 miles of the BUPA Great South Run. This set the bar fairly high, but in order to squeeze those few extra coins and notes from your wallets and purses, this year I will be going for two "buzzes" and to mark the events I will be trying to raise funds for two charities:
- Buzz 1 - The Royal Parks Half Marathon (October 10th)
- Buzz 2 - The BUPA Great South Run (October 24th)
This page is for the Royal Parks Half Marathon where I will be running to raise funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity (www.prostate-cancer.org.uk)
Did you know that in the UK:
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men
One man dies from prostate cancer every hour
36,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year
70% of adults do not know what the prostate gland does.
The Charity was set up with the remit of improving the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer. Their vision is to see a world where lives are no longer limited by prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer has been for so long one of the least publicised of illnesses - stoically suffered by men. But recently it was brought home to me, when a friend was diagnosed with a brain tumor - a secondary cancer from an undetected prostate cancer.
So, on Sunday 10th October and Sunday 24th October, I will be taking to the streets of London and Southsea hoping to persuade you to open up those wallets and credit cards and make a donation!
It’s simple, just click the link below and punch in your credit card or Paypal details - easy peasey - you’ve made a difference! And don't forget to use Gift Aid.
Failing that, let's just say - I know your addresses!
Thanks for your help.
