Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit QUB Children in Crossfire Society's JustGiving page. We are taking part in our '25 Days of Christmas: Treat Deprivation Style'.
Christmas is a time of festive fun and presents for most, but for some it is a time of hardship and suffering. Children in Crossfire's Advent Appeal 2015 is here, seeking to help those in need in developing countries. The QUB Committee decided to get involved in our own way. Realising that many do not even have clean water, ample food supplies or shelter, we decided we would give up treats and delights we take for granted this Christmas countdown. We hope to raise money for this great cause, and awareness of poverty prevalence in the process.
We also hope to survive caffeine and chocolate withdrawal, amongst other things.
We are (and what we are giving up!):
Fíachra, Chair: Bye to a trio: Sweets/Crisps/Chocolate.
Jessica, Treasurer: going Facebook-free.
Leah, Secretary: Saying farewell to coffee and chocolate.
Sheila, Fundraising Officer: Goodbye sodas!
Children in Crossfire aims to make a significant and lasting contribution towards the eradication of poverty and desires to see a better, brighter world. It seeks to achieve this by working with a network of collaborating agencies, and grassroots organisations within the local communities. Children in Crossfire supports local initiatives that improve the daily lives for people living in some of the world's poorest communities. We are a group of students committed to raising awareness of the wonderful work Children in Crossfire do and fund-raise on the charity's behalf.
