Story
Hi all, hope you had an awesome start to 2024!
To start the year I decided (not quite the right word..) that I would run the London Marathon (possibly walk/drag myself around) for the charity Headway Hertfordshire.. nearly 15 years ago, my dad survived a life-changing head injury from a road traffic accident with a 10% chance of living. Nearly 15 years later, he has celebrated his 70th birthday, a major milestone!
With the support of the incredible teams at Addenbrooks, Lister Hospital, Local GP services and Headway Hertfordshire (a charity supporting such cases) playing a vital role in his recovery.
What is a Head Injury?
A heady injury typically refers to any trauma or damage to the brain, resulting from incidents such as accidents, falls, strokes or other traumatic events. These injuries can have varying degrees of severity and may lead to physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
Initially, when I signed up to run the marathon, it was because I kind of liked the t-shirt, not really expecting to get a place.. so now I have I wanted to show my support for this amazing organisation, please would you consider sponsoring me to help this charity continue to support other individuals and their families. If you can sponsor or help raise awareness, I'd truly appreciate it. Every bit counts!
Grateful for your support on this meaningful journey. #LondonMarathon2024 #HeadwaySupport #HeadwayHertfordshire
