Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Nick Crosby, Martin Fox and Sean & Lee Frost will be competing in the Race Across America cycle race as a four person team, riding in a relay format from West to East - Oceanside CA. to Annapolis MD.

Starting on June 15th and we hope, ending some 6 days later...our progress can be tracked live once the race starts at:

http://www.raceacrossamerica.org/live-tracking.html

The biggest driver for taking on this challenging adventure is to raise funds for the Piam Brown Ward, a very deserving Charity.

The Piam Brown Ward is the Regional Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Unit for Wessex, based on the top floor of Southampton general Hospital. Children come to Southampton from all over Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Surrey, Sussex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands to be cared for by our unit.
We care for children from birth to 16 years of age so demand on our resources is huge. We treat all types of cancer of which leukaemia is the most common. Leukaemia accounts for approximately one third of our new patients each year. We care for around 120 new families every year.
The “Team” is multi-disciplinary, led by 4 Consultants, supported by doctors and specialist oncology nurses, whilst social workers, physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians, pharmacists, research and data staff, support and play staff all have an equally important role to play.

Please, please, please dig deep to support us and the Charity.

Thanks...
