Story
On the 26th June 2010 I am doing the Three Peak Challenge, which means I’ll have just 24 hours to climb the three highest mountains in the UK, which are Ben Nevis (in Scotland, 1344m), Scafell Pike (in England, 978m) and Snowdon (in Wales, 1085m).
I am raising the money for the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, a recognised Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. They are one of the only places in the world where you can get a degree in Hinduism outside of India, and they are working to preserve our culture and religion for generations to come. Not only that, but they are one of the foremost non-sectarian, non-political Hindu authorities in the world. As well as all the fantastic work they do for Hinduism as a whole, on a more personal note, since Oxford lacks any kind of Mandir (Hindu temple), it is the only place in the city that Hindus have to practice our religion. Although they are associated with the University of Oxford they receive very little funding and are in desperate need of more support. The amount of work they do is incredible and I really believe that they deserve our support. So even if it’s only small, please donate what you can. If you would like more information please visit their website at www.ochs.org.uk Thank youRaam
