'40 at 40'

Many years ago, as a teenager with nowhere to go - full of bravado but in reality, scared and alone, I was able to access support from a charity called Nightstop based in Redditch. They work with host families to provide a safe place overnight for young people who find themselves in difficult situations like I did. Not once, but numerous times I was able to access this support till I found a place I could call home. Now as a 40 year old woman looking back, it's incredible to think how far I've come from the young girl I was then. The work they do was invaluable to me, as it has been to hundreds of other young people who have needed it, which is why I've chosen them as the charity I'd like to fundraise for with my '40 at 40' Events this year.

Redditch Nightstop pro-actively address needs to prevent homelessness in young adults aged 16 to 35

They provide hosted accommodation at point of crisis and longer term. They work together with young adults, their families, and agencies to prevent homelessness. They provide a range of learning opportunities around tenancy sustainment and wellbeing. They provide an opportunity for people in need of our services to gain trust in people and agencies, feel dignified and not judged and to develop openness to new experience
