Hello All - It is All Over but please still donate
Saturday 19th June will go down as one of the most challenging days I have ever had to face both physically and mentally. The weather was the worst I have ever seen it in June, the sea was angry, the wind was a north gale force wind which was so cold and sheet rain on and off all day (have I painted the picture for those not there)! Another big thank you for those who were brave enough to come and support me on the day.
We were dropped off 1 mile away from the shore and set off at 11.00am, amazingly I won the swim out of 108 men and women (one for the girls!!) My partner and I then set off after a number of people on the Kayak but managed to storm home first and not capsize. Unfortunately we had misjudged how cold it was and not kept our wetsuits on so I suffered slight hypothemia while on the bike and got overtaken by another mixed pair. We were then catching up and I had a puncture!!! (same as last year). We got home and then set out for the 8 mile run on the beach in wind and rain which was hard work but we made it and won the mixed run. We completed in 4 hours 28 minutes, 8 minutes behind the the other mixed pair and came third overall and second in the mixed so we had to hand over our title. We felt very proud of everyone who took part in a very trying day and it certainly made you feel like a superhero or is that superstupid ( as my mother would have you believe!). Will I do it next year, I don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you can see all the pain we went through please help the hospice with their new building project.
Lots of Love
