Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page, we have decided we would like to invite our guests to make charitable donations rather than give traditional presents.
Cancer. There are more than 200 types of cancer, each with different causes, symptoms and treatments. Around 293,600 new cases of cancer diagnosed each year in the UK. Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer in the UK.
Progress. As a result of vital research, which is largely funded by charitable donations, some progress is being made. Half of people diagnosed with cancer now survive for more than five years. The average ten-year cancer survival rate has doubled over the last 30 years. More than seven out of ten children with cancer are now successfully treated compared with fewer than 3 in 10 in the 1960s.
Cancer and Us. Our lives have been touched by cancer. Rachael's Dad, Gerry Jones, lost his battle with cancer in 1993 and is greatly missed but lovingly remembered. Hose, Rachael's closest friend's Dad, has also recently lost his battle against the disease. The sooner a cure for cancer is found the better. This is our bit to help fund the research.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your donation. It means a huge amount not just to us, but to the people your money will help.
With love
Al and Rachael
