I have a close family member who suffer's from a very rare nurogical condition called Devic's Disease.

Devic's disease, or neuromyelitis optica, (NMO) is a type of inflammatory demyelinating disease. A demyelinating disease occurs when the myelin sheath, a protective covering that surrounds brain and spinal cord nerves is damaged.

I have a personal challenge set to complete a half marathon in my 40th year.  I also wanted to take this opportunity to raise money for charity at the same time.  Also one that means something to me.

I take great strength from courage and determination against something which causes constant pain and discomfort which there is no pain relief in this case.  The battle has been a long one and running a half marathon will not take a mere portion of the strength that my aunt has.  Any money raised will go towards a  charity that supports those with a wide range of neorological conditions.
