Well I managed to finish the London Marathon in a steady 5Hrs 1Min and 21secs, half an hour slower than I had hoped for but the temperature and a niggling injury caused me problems on the day. I even ended up with sunburnt shoulders and neck. The atmosphere all day was unbelievable I just wish that I could break this jinx of hot weather following me round on Marathon races!
 
The fundraising is going great thanks to all the support that you have given me.

 
The sponsorship from you all really did make a difference when on more than one occasion I desperately wanted to stop and go into one of the many pubs on route for a rest, beer and some shade!

You will be pleased to know that I did get my pint of London Pride but only once I had finished!

Well I’ve done it ........entered another Marathon I must be mad! This time it’s the Virgin London Marathon on the 17^th April after 3 years of trying to get an entry. Training has started, my feet are blistered and my legs ache. I’ve even stopped drinking Beer!

I have chosen to run for one of the smaller charities, Deafness Research UK. Deafness Research UK is committed to securing radical improvements in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of deafness and other hearing impairments such as tinnitus. Ultimately, the charity seeks to find cures for these distressing and neglected disabilities.

A cure for my sons, Jake and Sam’s selective hearing may even be found one day!
