We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  We hope you will feel motivated to support our efforts.  Please do not hesitate to contact the team on 07500 978529 to ask any specific questions not covered below, or indeed to participate/help with future campaigns.

On the 2nd September 2010, 5 amateur cyclists rode 450 miles from Edinburgh to Lightwater Village in Surrey in just 3 days.  The journey took us through the steepest climbs in .  The longest day riding some 175 miles, (the longest stage of the ‘Tour de France’ is 120 miles), with 10,000 feet of climbing that came at the 130 mile mark!  The purpose of the ride was to raise funds to continue to find greater ways of beating Cancer.  As such we nominated Cancer Research as our chosen charity, in addition to 'Christophers Smile' http://www.christopherssmile.org.uk/ - which you can also donate to at: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GerhardEickermann

The riders were be met by the Charity representatives of Christophers Smile at the finish line, where local newspapers and local businesses turned out to support this worthy cause, along with a good chunk of the local population.

I would also like to make a massive mention and thank you on behalf of the team to Lucy Krigstein and Courtney Cook for their fantastic support vehicle services, their tremendous sense of humour and keeping the team spirits alive during some of the hardest times any of us have ever endured.  You are both amazing and this achievement would not have been possible without you both!!

Yyou can still support this venture by pledging funds.  There will be a follow-up mail relaying some of the key points of the journey, along with photo's.

Andy x 2, Dunc, Jase and Gerhard.

We would also like to say a huge THANK YOU to 'i3' for their very kind contribution of GBP 770.79, and to Kenexa for their support and financial contribution of GBP 646, in addition to Lucy Krigstein for her amazing organsational support and fund raising.  Thank you!!

We'd also like to make special mention of Hilton Hotel Bromsgrove, Lancaster House Hotel & Novotel Edinburgh for their superb hospitality and free food and accomodation, and to City Gate VW for the loan of the support vehicle complete with livery.  I'd also like to make special mention to United Healthcare for their donation of thier 'pro-cycling' team clothing.
