Hello I'm Rochelle =D

I have had yet another mad moment and agreed to do another crazy challenge.  This time I will be doing a trek across the Sahara desert...and being and unfit red head its going to be one hell of a challenge!  I will be spending three days trekking the mighty Sahara and the challenge includes working with local people on a project that helps the local community so will spend a couple of days assisting at a Marrakech community project.  

On average I will cover 15-20km per day. As the trek progresses I will learn how the nomadic people of the Sahara live: from cooking (for example how to cook bread in the sand) to sleeping out under the stars...which will be a challenge for me as the temperature drops dramatically at night (from 35C to 0C) brrr!!!

To be able to take on this challenge I will have to follow a strict 8 week training plan and as many of you know I'm not one for fitness, but I'm willing to take on this challenge and the training that comes with it because ultimately it's all for a great cause...The Lakelands Day Care Hospice. 

This charity is very close to my heart as I admire the amazing work they do, I have only recently learnt the full extent of what Lakelands Hospice do now and the work is incredible, I encourage anyone to find out more information for themselves.  Unfortunately the Big C has directly affected our family on so many occasions and I'd like to carry on doing these crazy challenges in honour of those people that meant so much to me and hopefully I can raise as much money as possible to help others in future.

I would like to thank the "My Community" team at RS Components who have kindly sponsored me for this event and for their continued support with fundraising.  But I still have a very ambitious target I must achieve, I still have £1850 to raise for the charity so please give as generously as you can however, please be assured that every donation will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small!  All proceeds will go directly to the Lakelands Hospice.
