We provide much needed free education to children in the developing world

Story

Thank you for visiting our page.

“The Light Side of the Moon” is a charity group formed by a group of six AS-level students from The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, raising money for The Wings of Hope Charity. We are trying to raise a total sum of £11,287 which will go towards providing an education for young school children in India. We made this number our target as this represents the number of days that Gandhi and Nelson Mandela were collectively in jail for. They suffered in order to bring about  a change in people's lives and as  a group we would like to help the less privileged people in India and Malawi.  We know that this figure is ambitious but we are certain that with your support it can be achieved.

We aim to create two main fundraising events as well as hosting a dinner and dance.

One of our events will take place in mid-December, where all six of us will walk in shorts and sandals for roughly fifteen miles, starting in Stanmore and finishing in Northwood. We are also organising a “walking on broken glass” event because our group wants to experience some of the hardships that these children have to endure every single day.

Your donations will go a long way in improving the lives of these children.

Thank you,

The Light Side of the Moon.
