Story
The Urology Foundation is the only UK charity dedicated to all urology diseases with a mission to save lives and end the suffering caused by urology cancers & conditions. These diseases affect millions across the UK and Ireland. Working with researchers, urology and health care professional TUF supports cutting-edge research and leading education and training.
The Urology Foundation, or TUF as its fondly known as, is a fantastic charity that I’m proud to be a trustee of. Over the years TUF has worked tirelessly to ensure that patients affected by cancers of the kidneys, bladder and prostate as well as conditions like incontinence and kidney stones, are given the attention they deserve. Something that few other charities are doing. The Urology Foundation’s aim is for Excellence in Urology through research, innovation and training.
Thanks to TUF, researchers across the country are working to find new ways to treat and prevent these disease areas, and possibly one day they might find a cure for them. Through my work I have seen first-hand, not only the impact a urological cancer or condition can have on one’s quality of life but also the difference TUF is working hard to make. Over the last few years we have seen an increase in the number of urology patients undergoing robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer, the introduction of Botox to treat overactive bladder, and all of this, and much more, is because of The Urology Foundation. In the future we aim to fund areas of innovation , training and research that are difficult to fund such as research into urinary tract infections , assessment of new techniques, simulation in training and quality of life in patients with urological cancer to name a few !
I have been involved in fund raising for TUF for 8 years and your your sponsorship no matter how big or small will go directly to to where it’s needed so that we can prevent and treat urological disease.
We arrive in Windhoek and move to Uis and start the trek in the Brandenburg Massif, walk through the Tsisab ravine and follow the dry banks of the Ugab river , seeing granite rocks and ancient rock paintings , and also the opportunity for some wildlife with hilly rock climbs and sandy treks . We sleep in tents or under the stars and will also visit a local school to provide much needed support with essentials to the school . The carbon footprint is offset by all on the trek . I cover all my costs for these challenges so all donations go to
The Urology Foundation.
Your sponsorship me will help in so many ways – here’s just a few examples.
£15 will provide urology health awareness materials
£33 will fund an hour of TUF research
£70 will go towards a specialist training session for a urology nurse

Every single penny donated is very much appreciated and The Urology Foundation relies solely on charitable donations so please dig deep and support my efforts in supporting this great charity. TUF is a charity with income of £1.2
to 1.5 million. We aim to grow this to £3 million over the next 3 years. If you wish to be involved with the charity or if your up for a tough challenge this year why not join me and the TUF team for an adventure of a lifetime .
