Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m running the ½ marathon (13 miles up and down hills!) on Sunday 21st March 2010! I’m running for the Sara Lee Trust who are a local charity based within St Michael’s Hospice in St Leonards. The Trust provides holistic therapies for cancer, motor neurone disease and HIV/Aids patients and carers.
When I was diagnosed with bladder cancer last year the Conquest hospital were fantastic and zapped the cancer out of me within a week. However the emotional effects of a cancer diagnosis were treated by a fantastic woman called Joy at the Sara Lee Trust. When no one else was there, the Sara Lee Trust were. I want to try and pay them back for the free support and counselling they gave me, and hopefully help them provide it for someone just like me, or you, in the future.
I’ll be running on Sunday 21st and my training is not as, erm, comprehensive as I would have liked, so it’s going to be really tough! I’d love to see you down there waving and supporting (it makes a big difference to us cold and tired runners!).
Please give whatever you can - £35 will provide an hours therapy for a patient at the Sara Lee Trust. Cancer seems to affect almost everyone these days and these services make all the difference.
Thank you for your support,
Rosalind :)
