Year 6 are very passionate about how important protecting our planet is and how we can come together and help support a charity that works towards this. That is why we chose The Rainforest Trust. The Rainforest Trust saves endangered wildlife and protects our planet by creating rainforest reserves through partnerships, community involvement and donor support. Rainforests store billions of tonnes of carbon, helping to mitigate climate change. They are also home to 50% of the world’s species (many of which are endangered) and thousands of indigenous communities rely on these forests for their survival. Yet every day we lose 70,000 acres of rainforest to deforestation. Rainforest Trust has already placed over 34 million acres under permanent protection, and all donations are doubled by a generous supporter.
