One Million Step Challenge · 28 June 2020

Mercy Rescue Trust runs a baby rescue centre in Kitale, Kenya. Babies who would otherwise be left to die are rescued, nursed back to health, and either reunited with their family or found forever families.

Story

During lockdown, it quickly became clear that we might become drunks, chunks or hunks - so we decided to get walking and aim for hunks! The 3 of us without fitbits each purchased one, and we all four decided to get to work.

We were then inspired by the Diabetes UK One Million Step Challenge and decided to become a team (Fitbit Four Million) to try and reach 4 million steps overall, raising money for 4 great charities along the way; Diabetes UK, Lakelands Hospice, Mercy Rescue Trust and Crazy Hats Breast Cancer Appeal.

The challenge runs from 1st July - 30th September, meaning we need to walk at least 10,870 steps daily.

We really hope that you will also be inspired to support us, in what is no doubt going to be some challenge!

We would dearly like the charities to benefit as equally as possible, so please consider this when donating. Thank you so much for your support!
