Event: 1 Million Steps for 1 Million Pennies, on 5 March 2022
1 Million Steps is about 500 miles. Set yourself a goal, it doesn't matter how many steps you take and help us raise 1 Million Pennies to support people recovering from brain injuries.

Story

Esmé, Elise and William will be walking/being pushed 3 million cm (30km/18.6 miles) between 2nd and 3rd September. They were inspired by their second cousin Zara and Ians side to side challenge, where they walked from the most westerly point in Wales to Lowestoft the most easterly point of England.

6 years ago Zara was living in the Caribbean with Ian, they were living outs their dreams of being scuba diving instructors. Zara suffered a seizure while driving and crashed into a concrete post which left her with a broken neck, complete paralysis on her right side and a traumatic brain injury (tbi). Zara's brain was basically split in two severing the nerves that connected her brain to her muscles. Zara had to relearn the things we take for granted from swallowing to walking.

Zara created the 3 million steps charity to help raise awareness of traumatic brain injuries and help support survivors and their carers during their recovery.
