Thanks for taking time to visit the"Rough Shag" JustGiving page.  We are a group of extremely committed, marginally talented and extremely grateful musicians pursuing a higher military intellectual plane by day at the UK Defence Academy and enjoying the hell out of playing popular music to course members by night.  

Until now "Rough Shag" have performed locally for no charge.  We are asking existing or potential members of our congregation to consider the great value this entails and pop a donation of whatever size you think appropriate into our chosen charity BLESMA in order to garantee this outstanding enertainment service until the end of the academic year.  Feel free to make any request in return if you like (As long as its not " could you play somewhere else?").  We will let all Defence Academy Students and Staff know of all forthcoming gigs and would love you to be there to hear us play.

BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Service Men's Association) is the national charity for limbless serving and ex service men and women and their dependants and widows.

It is the charity that directly supports all our service men and women who lose limbs, the use of limbs or eyes or the sight of an eye in the service of our country and they are with them all whenever needed for the rest of their lives. Their work starts with rehabilitation - proving that there is life after amputation. Their work is about amputee helping amputee - the fellowship of shared experience. Their work is about life long welfare support, about campaigning for what they deserve and about being there when old injuries come back to haunt. Their youngest Member is 19 and our oldest is 99 - As they so rightly put it "Truly we are BLESMA for Life".
