I am trying to raise the profile of type 1 diabetes and wish to stress that type 1 diabetes is completely different to type 2 diabetes. Although only 10% of all diabetics are type 1 it is apparent that more children are getting diagnosed with this relentless disease. It is with us 24/7 there are no days off, insulin keeps us alive, without it we wouldn't be here.
