Story

As some of you know, my dad passed away after a short battle with cancer a few years ago. I always find Christmas to be a difficult time of year for that reason and so this year I’ve decided to do something about it – I’m chopping (nearly) all of my hair off for charity on Tuesday 17th November!

Little Princess Trust is a wonderful organisation that provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. Around 30 children are diagnosed with cancer every week in the UK - as a child, it is particularly difficult to cope with such a physical reminder of your illness. Each wig costs about £350 so the donation is already very valuable already, but…

Homelessness is another issue which is very close to my heart, especially at Christmas when we are all united with friends, family and loved ones in our warm, comfy homes. Crisis at Christmas is a fantastic charity that provides homeless and vulnerable people with a safe, warm environment over the Christmas period as well as help, advice, food and clothing. A donation of £22.29 will pay for one person’s stay, so I am aiming to help ten people in need and raise £222.90. I am also volunteering for 24 hours at the crisis centres (albeit not in one go!).

Lastly, I would like to give a very special thank you to Abstract Hairdressing in Beaconsfield, who are getting into the festive spirit by chopping off about 9” of hair for free, and my very good friend, the talented Oliver Adkins, who will be doing the deed itself.
Please give generously so that we can bring as many people as possible in from the cold this Christmas!

Big love,

Roz x
