Hi everyone my name is Tasha and I am the proud mother of Rory. Rory sadly passed away in October 2020 at the age of only 13 years old. Rory had the most loving, caring, kind and sweet soul, who would have absolutely loved to have helped anybody in need.

So last July 2021, It was the first birthday without him, he would’ve turned 14. Weeks leading up to his birthday I came up with the idea of doing something that would honour Rory whilst challenging myself and raising the money to help and support a charity close to our hearts. I couldn’t believe the response that I received when I shared this idea to friends and family on social media.

I was completely overwhelmed by the support and love so many people  showed me. Not only that, but many people decided to join in on the challenge with me too.

We ended up raising over an incredible £3000 for Child bereavement UK.
With the great success of this event, I have decided to carry this on now every July to celebrate my Son and also raise even more money for this great charity. This year he would be turning 15 on the 4th July.

The event is called Run for Rory, as every day in July I will run 5K a day.
I have opened this event, so that people can join in, challenge themselves, support each other’s mental and physical health and also bring awarness to this well needed charity, all whilst remembering my son Rory. Exercise is so important for not only your physical health, but your mental health as well. It has also been my most biggest outlet to help whilst grieving too.

This is an open event where absolutely everybody can join in. You can take on this challenge doing 5K a day. You can choose to run, walk, ride, swim… complete it in the best way you possibly can.
