Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We, the Broadbent's and friends are going to raise some well deserved money for the Ronald McDonald House in Tooting by running, jogging and walking the 10 mile Great South Run in Portsmouth on the 25th October this year.
It's been a challenging year for our family in 2014 & 2015, with baby William being admitted to St. George's Hospital in London for over 6 months with an undiagnosed medical condition. A time that was both emotionally and logistically very difficult for our family.
The Ronald McDonald house came to our rescue for most of Williams stay in hospital. They gave us not only a bed to sleep in but a warm and comforting environment for us to continue our family life which we are forever grateful for. We met a great team of people and other families that were in a very similar situation.
The Ronald McDonald House in Tooting is an 8 bedroom house based on the grounds of St. Georges hospital and is charity funded. The running costs for the house exceed £100,000 a year which is a lot to fundraise but leaves little money for those additional extras which make the house a home.
Strength, discipline, determination and laughter have been so important on our journey over the last year and its important to us to use the things to look forward. So....on the 25th October 2015 I'm going to be joined by some of the amazing friends that helped to support and visit us whilst in hospital and together we will meet the challenge (bigger for some than others) but we will cross the finish line however fast or slow. Thank you to Emma Ward, Caroline Sims, Frances Brown, Louise Broadbent, Emma Mabey, Joanne Henderson, Lucy Oldham, Paula Steeples, Hannah Dinsmore and Lucy Smith who will be running with me.
Please support in our quest for the finishing line. Your kind donations will help Ronald McDonald House to provide the same support to other parents.
