We help communities overcome crisis to move from recovery to resillience

Story

Hot on the trail of the Slumdog bandwagon we have signed up for an epic adventure across the Indian sub continent.

Starting in the dizzying heights of Pokhara Nepal, we will be heading down through Uttar Pradesh and onwards to sunny Kerala where we will be ending our journey in Cochin, some 2,000 km away. Together with our trusty steed, the legendary 7hp Auto-Rickshaw, we aim to tame this mighty beast at (not more than) 55kph.

Facing treacherous terrain, unknown enemies and vast amounts of curry we are bidding to raise in excess of £1,000 for two fabulous charities Mercy Corps & Maiti Nepal.

We will be starting our journey on the 1st of January 2010 and intend to reach Cochin by the 16th of January. Until that time we need all the help we can get. Whether you want to provide us with helpful advice, gifts or best of all hard cash we want to hear from you.

To ensure your donation goes directly to your charity of choice we have set up two seperate just giving sites. This page is dedicated to Mercy Corps.

Mercy Corps works amid disasters, conflicts, chronic poverty and instability to unleash the potential of people who can win against nearly impossible odds. Since 1979, Mercy Corps has provided £600 million in assistance to people in 106 nations. All over the world, millions of innocent people are caught up in intolerable situations. But they are not today's victims; they are tomorrow's heroes, who have the power to transform their own communities.
