This year, my plan was to run the Manchester Marathon at the beginning of April.  Just four weeks before, I got an injury so had to pull out. Rather than my training going to waste, I entered the inaugural Newport marathon!  

As added motivation, I am running to support Welsh Women's Aid.  Welsh Women’s Aid is the national charity in Wales working to end domestic abuse and all forms of violence against women. It is a federation of specialist organisations in Wales that provide lifesaving services to survivors of violence and abuse – women, men, children, families – and deliver a range of innovative preventative services in local communities.
