I am taking part in a White-Collar Charity boxing match on 16th March at Chester Race Course with the aim of raising funds for the charity “Cuddles” – the Glan Clwyd Neonatal Unit Charity.

This charity provided invaluable support to my sister Sophie & her partner Leanne during an immensely challenging period, as they welcomed premature twins into the world at 26 weeks. As a family, we are forever thankful for the support they received.

Hudson & Harleys story 🌟

My Nephews Hudson & Harley were born on the 9^th Jan 2023 at only 26+ 2 weeks gestation, over 3 and a half months premature weighing less than 2lbs each, and would fit comfortably in the palm of a hand.

After initial examinations it was found both boys had bleeds on their brains and 2 holes in their hearts which they were started on medication for straight away. 

Hudson and Harley spent 91 long days in hospital, between them they had several intubations from struggling to breathe by themselves, several blood transfusions, multiple screenings for sepsis and there wasn’t a day that went by where they didn’t have a cannula in some part of their body. 

At 28 days old Hudson and Harley were diagnosed with metabolic bone disease and chronic lung disease, which means they needed continuous 24hr oxygen support.

Without the incredible care from a number of hospitals, mainly Glan Clwyd SCBU, the twins wouldn’t be where they are today, they saved their lives and their future, which Leanne and Sophie are forever grateful for. 

It brings me immense pride to witness how far they have come, and I’m delighted to share that the boys recently marked their first birthday (of course I had to buy the MUFC kits!)
