Lennox Children's Cancer Fund makes a positive difference to the lives of children fighting cancer. This is achieved through key projects, such as Respite Breaks and Care Grants, which support the whole family practically, financially and emotionally at a time when it is needed most.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I would really appreciate it if you would donate to the Lennox Children's Cancer Fund who provide much needed help for children with cancer and their families.

Having recently returned to the UK from working with Save the Children in Ethiopia, I will be lacing up the gloves once again and reapplying myself to the sweet science of boxing for a very important cause.

As many of you know, boxing is a sport close to my heart and I am honoured to be able to compete whilst helping children in distressing circumstances.

As some of you know, I have some amateur boxing experience from from my school and university days, nonetheless making a comeback at 38 years of age is proving to be extremely tough!  I have been taking training seriously, not drinking alcohol since early January and have shed around 14 kgs so far.  I am sparring a few times per week and gradually getting my speed, power, punch resistance and reflexes back to a decent level.

I would also hugely appreciate it if you would come to the event and support me, I fully intend to put on an entertaining show for you! The event will be held at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton from 6.45pm on Saturday 13th July 2019.  I have a limited number of tickets for the night - which cost £30 each - please let me know as soon as possible if you would like one/some: samuelwood1@gmail.com
