Story

Thanks you so much to everyone for sponsoring me for my run on Sunday!

It was tough but so worth it to help my two charities!  I managed it in two hours!!

Still a bit stiff today but feel great for doing it knowing that I your money will help a lot of people.

Sarah xxxx

First of all thank you for coming to donate to my chosen charity.

I am running the Cumbrian Run Half Marathon 13.5 miles on the 3rd October for two charities very close to my heart;

The first is The Garry Purdham Memorial Fund which is a fund set up in memory of Brother in Law Garry who was taken from us on 2nd June 2010 in The Cumbrian Shootings, when he was taken it has left a great big hole in our lives that will never be replaced.

The second is The Cumbrian Community Foundation; which is a charity set up help all the families and victims that suffered from the events that happened on that terrible day 2nd June, 12 people were murdered and many more were injured.  Hundreds of people have had their lives shattered by the evil crime that happened on that day.

Please go to http://www.garrypurdham.co.uk/ to donate to Garry's Fund.

Cumbria has been in the news for some awful reasons in the last six months; firstly the floods, secondly the school bus crash where two children lost their lives and then the shootings where 12 people lost their lives and many others injured.  100’s of lives have been shattered the charity is called Cumbria Foundation which has been set up to help people affected by these terrible events.

I lost my Brother in Law Garry to the horrific shooting events on 2nd June 2010.  My family and many other families’ lives will never be the same again.  When Garry was taken from us he left a beautiful Wife Ros and two gorgeous sons Cameron and Flynn, parents Jack and Bridget and Brother and Sister Robert and Becky and many more friends and family.

No amount of money can ever change what happened on 2nd June 2010 but it may help the 100’s of people affected by the terrible and evil crime that happened.  It will also benefit those affected by the floods and the school bus crash.

From now on, all my races and runs that I do I will try and raise money for Garry’s Memorial Fund, The Cumbrian Foundation and Cancer Research.

You can either sponsor me by my sponsor form attached and see me direct, or donate straight to the websites; http://www.garrypurdham.co.uk/  http://www.cumbriafoundation.org/memorial.htm  or by going to my Justgiving page http://www.justgiving.com/SARAH-PURDHAM0

I will be splitting my money equally between the charities.

Thanks again.

Regards

Sarah
