In June I will be embarking on a 500km cycle from London to Paris to raise money for Afghanaid.  No doubt I will end up very very sore, but it's a small price to pay for such a worthy cause.

Afghanaid has worked alongside Afghan communities for nearly three decades and are currently working directly with over 1 million adults and children focusing on long term sustainable development in some of Afghanistan's poorest rural areas.

The promotion of economic, political and social rights are the main areas on which Afghanaid's projects are focused, through community productive agricultural and infrastructure programs, setting up of inclusive and democratic local councils and youth programs to adapt to life after almost 30 years of war.

Afghanaid is also among the few charities who work directly with thousands of Afghan women living in remote villages.
