Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, running has become a big part of my life, running a marathon however has not! and although running London has become something I have aspired to do for a few years, training for a marathon is an unknown! 26.2 miles of running is a scary concept, with winter training and the potential for injuries already entering my sub conscious, Its going to be a challenge that is for sure!
I have been lucky enough to win a club place for the marathon and the chance to chase my dreams! Hopefully the hard work will pay off and I can raise a few pennies for this wonderful charity as well.
I have chosen the Papworth Hosptial Charity for a couple of reasons.
My dearly loved uncle (Mel Holman) was able to live life to the full for a further 15 years following a heart bypass operation at Papworth Hospital in August 2000. He always supported The Papworth Hospital Charity and has left a legacy to his family and friends after sadly passing away in October to continue in doing so in support of their amazing work in Heart and Lung related illnesses.
The other reason is for a lady I never had the pleasure of meeting, and neither did two of her grandchildren. Harry and Maxi (My two boys) sadly never got to meet their grandmother (Their Daddy, Drew's mum) who in life was treated successfully by Papworth Hospital.
So as you can see, raising for Papworth was a clear choice. Although very personal reasons, any one of us could need the specialist help of Papworth Hosptial at any point in our lives.
Any donation however small would be VERY, VERY much appreciated, and it will help keep my little legs moving in the right direction, especially when its cold and soggy, my muscles ache and my training plan tells me I have to run 20 miles that day!
Thank you all for reading. Sal xxx
