Hi everyone,

On 16th June I will be staggering 24.5 miles across Yorkshire to raise money for a very good cause - and I'd be really grateful if you could sponsor me.

24.5 miles? I hear you say. People run that and more, and you're just walking it? But guys - this is my marathon. I had to hang up my trainers ten years ago because of a hip deformity. No more running for me. Instead, I will be walking as fast as I can up three big hills, hopefully in less than 12 hours, and I've been told this hurts! I'll let you know.

Honestly every penny helps, whatever you can give. Stockport CP is a local, independent charity and put very simply, we help disabled people with stuff that most non-disabled people don't even think about. Things like getting on the bus, going for a coffee with a friend, enjoying a bike ride, cooking a meal. If you imagine not being able to do those things without support, you'll realise how important that support is. The people I work with who provide it are amazing.
