Our reason for sponsoring Alopecia UK is due to this charity being close to all our hearts. 

At 22 years old, I didn't understand what was happening when my hair began to fall out when brushing and washing my hair. Within a short amount of time my hair began to fall out at a dramatic pace and I didn't know what to do. Doctors couldn't help and had no answers for me. After having several bald patches develop and a lot of hair thinning, I made the choice to shave my hair off to make the decision myself for what seemed the inevitable. After having several hospital appointments and trying many different types of medication, at the moment there has been no progress. 

Alopecia UK is an amazing, understated charity which provides support groups around the country for those who suffer from all different types of Alopecia. I, myself, attended a meeting and met some fantastic women who shared their experiences and their advice. I have been lucky to have such a massive support network behind me and my family, my boyfriend, in laws and close friends have been my strength and pulled me through, what to me, was a massive life changing event.

People can be cruel and judgemental because they don't understand. These special people close to my heart pulled me through a difficult time when insecurity and sadness was getting the best of me. They made me realise that although everyone thinks looks are everything, they made me feel beautiful when I felt far from that. They were my sunshine and pulled me from the darkness into the light and embrace how I look.

We want to help raise awareness for this outstanding charity and do all we can to hopefully in the future, have a cure.
