I am a true Newmarket girl. Born and bred in the town. My father is Derby winning jockey Michael Hills and my family are all involved in racing with my grandfather as trainer Barry Hills and Uncle Charlie who is also a trainer, not to mention Uncle Richard who is Racing Manager to Sheikh Hamdan, plus my uncle George works in America in bloodstock insurance.

I’ve always been involved with horses and that’s why I relished the opportunity to take on the challenge of the Animal Health Trust Charity Race. Whilst the race itself will be a great accomplishment for me, it will be so rewarding knowing that I have supported the fantastic cause that is the Animal Health Trust. The Animal Health Trust is a stakeholder of the business I work for, Discover Newmarket, and over the past few months I have had the opportunity to witness the amazing work that the Animal Health Trust carry out. An interesting fact about the AHT is for every £1 they raise, 93p is spent fighting disease and injury in animals and the remaining 7p to raise the next £1.

I've been working hard to ensure I am race fit for the challenge. I have been training hard at the gym and have been riding out for James Owen every day. Joe Akhurst is kindly donating his horse who is trained by Mark Tompkins, for me to ride in the race.
