Izaak was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) at our 20week scan. CDH is a serious condition that only has a 50 percent survival rate. It is caused by the diaphragm not forming properly and it allows organs that should be below the diaphragm to move into the chest and stop the lungs from growing properly. Izaak had a severe form of the condition and sadly only survived for 8hours after birth. The Lily Mae foundation provides bereaved families with a memory box with lots of things inside to help families like us create special memories in the short time that they have with their precious babies.
