“ To honour my beloved Mum Sandra Marshall, who had had kidney failure and to help others have holiday dialysis at the Mermaid centre, Wells in Norfolk” 💜

3 years ago we did the London Bridge kidney walk to support my Mum who was on dialysis and honour her bravery. We returned from the walk and put the medal around her neck. I promised her I would do the walk each year for her.

Only 3 months after this my Mum died very suddenly. Last year we did the walk in her memory and we would like to do it continue to do it each July, to honour Mum and show our great love for her. 

All money raised will be going to a kidney charity close to Mums heart called the Mermaid centre in Wells next to the Sea, Norfolk. It is a charity and relies on donations to provide holiday dialysis for people so they can still get away with their families. There are just 6 beds and you have to book it up a year in advance but its such an important place and I want to ensure other people can get away on holiday. 

Mum went here 3 times and they enabled us to have 3 extra very special holidays with her. A dialysis patients life is very hard and can involve dialysis three times a week for 3 - 4 hours on a dialysis machine so to get on holiday each year still is very special. You are limited where you can go as you need to be need somewhere that provides holiday dialysis like the Mermaid Centre.
