Story
Many thanks for taking the time to read this.
As you are probably aware, I broke my ankle last year whilst walking our dogs one cold wet Sunday afternoon in a field near our home in Calne. Luckily my husband, Jonathan, had his mobile with him and called 999.The operator advised that I must not be moved and they would send a paramedic immediately. By the time he arrived I was suffering from hypothermia and had gone into shock. Due to my location and condition the Air Ambulance was called and they arrived minutes later.
Accidents really do happen at the most unexpected times and in, quite often, very familiar places (I have walked through that field many, many times). It is only when it happens to you that you realise how vitally important services such as the Wiltshire Air Ambulance are and I am eternally grateful to the crew for everything they did for me that day.
Jonathan and I are doing this 55 mile sponsored walk, that takes place over two days, in order to raise funds for this outstanding service which relies solely on donations to keep airborne. We are delighted to have this opportunity to support and thank the Air Ambulance for what they did for me that day and for all the other people they have or will have to rescue.
We are very grateful for any donation you can make to this wonderful cause.
Kind regards
Sarah and Jonathan
