We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.
Story
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
For those of you who don’t already know or who haven’t heard me moan about my training plan… I’m doing the Great North Run in September. That’s a half marathon or 13.1 loooooong miles. With the furthest distance I’ve ever run in my life being 5km, this is going to be quite a challenge! Luckily though, I won't be facing it alone and I'll be running with my brother Jonathon and my 60 year old Dad.
Not only is this a great way to keep me fit, it’s also an opportunity to raise some money for a great charity. I’m raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society which is the leading care and research charity for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, their families and carers. With over 700,000 people suffering from dementia in the and with this figure rising to over 1 million by 2025, it really is a worthy cause.
So the training has begun and to say that I’m not particularly enjoying it would be a slight understatement. However, I’m determined to stick with it and to finish the run on the day. So please dig deep and donate now, all donations will be gratefully received… but I promise I’ll run faster the more money I raise!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer.
Thanks very much for your support,
Sarah x
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
