We use the power of swimming to change lives for kids with disabilities

Story

I've loved swimming for as long as I can remember and have spent a lot of my life training, teaching and racing. At home, I swam for Northbridge Swimming Club, encountering sea lice and stingers along way. Since moving to the UK have joined the Serpentine Swimming Club, swimming in Hyde Park where the main wildlife is the swans, but the temperature is a hell of a lot lower!

In July, I will be swimming 1/5th of the English Channel with "In the Duck Poo", a five member relay team from the Serpentine Swimming Club. My teammates are Rose Lewis, Graham Buckle, David McGregor and Craig Kerr.

I am using my swim to fundraise for Level Water, a UK based charity that provides free one-on-one swimming lessons to children with disabilities. Knowing the joy swimming has given me over the years, I believe that everyone should learn to swim and Level Water gives these kids that opportunity.
