Ronnie suddenly and heart-breakingly died in a car accident on 3^rd August. The outpouring of responses and messages of commemoration are a testament to the impact he had on peoples' lives. Many people have asked what they can do as a gesture of their sorrow and as a tribute to his life. Helen, his family and close friends, feel that a collection for charity would have been what Ronnie wanted. 

Anyone who knew Ronnie would know that he spent his life on behalf of others- not only in his role as a doctor, but also in the way he lived his life and cherished his wife, family and friendships. He had the most generous and gentle heart.

Ronnie worked at a number of hospitals, however he particularly enjoyed his time on the Burns Unit at Broomfield Hospital and hoped to return there in the future. They were also incredibly supportive to him whilst undergoing his heart surgery last year. Helen has therefore chosen for donations to be given to the Burns Unit. The money raised will be used to purchase something that can help the patients, relatives or staff of the unit in memory of Ronnie. The exact nature of the memorial will depend on the needs of the department and the amount raised. We are in continuing communication with some of his colleagues there. I will update this page with the details.
