Story
Due to the ongoing conflict in Yemen, almost 20 million people do not have access to safe drinking water or a water supply. This problem is particularly great in Sana (Hamadan District) which is 2500m above sea level. This means it is extremely difficult for water to reach here as water infrastructure has been destroyed by the war. As a result, according to UN reports water resources and reserve water levels are at a dangerously low level.
As a result of the unsafe drinking water diseases such as cholera are on the rise. With this Water Project, we aim to raise enough money on behalf of The Zahra Trust to provide safe clean drinking water to approximately 2500-3000 villagers for the community of Sana (Yemen) which is easily accessible without endangering life.
The Water Project will ensure that the system created is sustainable and already has the support of local residents and security officials to maintain the safety and efficacy of the project.
Together let's help to provide much needed safe and clean drinking water to the people of the Sana area of Yemen-surely the people here have suffered enough already....lets help to save lives.
