I joined SFRS back in March and until then I was like most members of the public ... grateful for having SFRS there when I might need them but with no idea of what it takes to keep me and communities across Scotland safe. It’s incredible! What SFRS do for us is dangerous, risky and requires courage from our Fire Fighters.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Support Trust is the oldest Fire & Rescue charity in the UK and are unique position as the only Fire Service charity, run within a specific Fire and Rescue Service, for the benefit of Service personnel and retired members and their families.

Signing up to #Steptember and raising some funds for the charity feels like the least I could do for those service personnel in need considering all the years they have been there for me. The target is a modest 50 miles but I figure a few rounds of golf might make that doable ... If I hit the 50 miles target with some time to spare we will keep going and see where it gets too.
